状语从句，顾名思义，就是在句子中充当状语成分的从句。
状语从句的区分主要根据从属连词来确定。
常见的状语从句类型有如下：
(1) 时间状语从句：
I was doing my homework when the doorbell rang.
I was watching TV while my mum was cooking.
As time went by, the weather became colder.
He didn't go to bed until his mother came back.
I will call you as soon as I get there.
(2) 条件状语从句：
If it doesn't rain tomorrow, we will go for a picnic.
You will fail the exam unless you work hard.
(3) 结果状语从句：
He was so angry that he couldn't say a word.
(4) 比较状语从句：
You are as pretty as your mother.
I am taller than my brother.
(5) 让步状语从句：
Although it is difficult, we will do it.
Though he was ill, he was still working.
(6) 原因/结构状语从句：
He didn't go to school because he was ill.
Since you ask me, I will tell you all.
(7) 地点状语从句：
Where there is a will, there is a way.

状语从句是以一个完整的句子在复合句中充当主句的状语成分来修饰主句的谓语动词，具体分为目的，时间，条件，结果，方式，让步，原因，比较，地点状语从句，相当于简单句中的不定式，方式短语，地点名词或副词，时间短语作状语。
1 目的状语从句，用来表明目的性。相当于简单句to do形式，由in order that短语引导连接，位于主句和从句之间。
We study hard in order that we can have a good life in the future.
2 时间状语从句，由表示时间的连词作引导，从句可位于主句前或后，when/while/until/before/after等词引导
He was watching TV When I came in
3 条件状语从句由if/unless/or作连接词引导，从句多为一般现在时表示将来式，主句为一般将来式和祈使句，可位于主句前后
You will catch up with your classmate if you study hard.
4 结果状语从句由固定短语so+形容词/副词+that..,such+（形容词）名词+that...作连接引导从句，表示结果。
The box is so heavy that I can't carry it
It's such a heavy box that I can't carry it.
5让步状语从句，由although,though,even if, as if,no matter +what/when/where/how，whatever/however/whenever/whereever等词引导，从句在句中可放前或放后，也可放中间
Even if I give you more chance, you still miss it.
No matter what you do, I can't still forgive you.
6 原因状语从句由because,as作连接引导词来引导从句，句中可放在前或放后。用中文翻译因为...所以...表示因果关系，但英语语法表达只用besause一词连接从句，无英语所以此词。
I come late because I am ill.
7 由as+形容词/副词+as+sb/sth用于肯定句，含义和...一样...，常用于句尾，用来作两者比较。否定句用not as/so...as...含义不及...
He can't run so fast as his good friend.
I am as tall as my cousin.
